Downtown Austin can get a little rowdy, but it is so much fun. You can go bar hopping on Rainey Street, walk the green belt, or go across the bridge and shop all day on South Congress. You’ll never get bored in Downtown Austin, but you might want to take a minute to just sit back and relax. Ciclo’s patio is the answer. This restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel Austin has the most underrated patio in all of Austin. It’s on the “lake level” of the hotel.
To be honest, I stumbled across this brunch find. A friend of mine wanted to meet for brunch on a Saturday morning close to South Congress, but we were slow to come up with a real plan. Neither of us made reservations, so at 11:30 on Friday night after a few drinks in, I browsed OpenTable for ANYTHING. I was searching and searching for something close to South Congress and Ciclo’s pictures caught my eye. They had a few pictures of their view of the river, and they had a table for 2. Perfect.
So, overall I was impressed, but I want to give y’all the details!
The Atmosphere
The Four Seasons as expected has an air of luxury and class. Indoors, the restaurant’s aesthetic is classic, but nothing note-worthy in my opinion. It has boujee hotel restaurant written all over it. The outdoor seating that has all the vibes.
If you’re looking for a brunch that has gorgeous outdoor seating, Ciclo is it. They have a beautifully manicured lawn with oak trees surrounding a lounge area with cozy chairs. All of their patio seating has a beautiful view of the Colorado River.
You can sip your mimosa and watch people walk along the Greenbelt.
What Should I Wear?
I wore my Endless Brunch t-shirt and stretchy linen shorts because I had plans to run around South Congress for a scavenger hunt after brunch. That said, I felt a little underdressed. I’d recommend business casual like a preppy sundress, anything with a cute blazer, or a button down and linen shorts.
A hat and sunglasses are a must! Our table was on the edge of the patio where there was a lot less shade.

The Drinks
I ordered a brunch cocktail called “Violet Crown,” which is made with volcan blanco tequila, violet crown elderflower liquor, lemon juice, fever-tree ginger ale, and garnished with baby’s breath. I absolutely adored this cocktail. The baby’s breath pinned to the glass was a nice touch. Also, the elderflower liquor makes the drink a pretty shade of purple, which we love.
The “Granada Mimosa” was their version of a mimosa. It’s a pretty big mimosa, but it is a little pricey at $14.
The Food
I ordered the Huevos Rancheros for my brunch dish at Ciclo, and it’s the exact savory brunch meal that I needed after Friday’s shenanigans. Their Huevos Rancheros features eggs sunny-side-up eggs, chorizo, bell pepper, black beans, sour cream, charred tomato sauce, on top of a crispy corn tortilla. Of all their brunch dishes, I feel like this meal gets the biggest bang for your buck. It costs $21.
My friend ordered the avocado toast and the eggs. She liked her dish a lot. The avocado toast is made with grilled multigrain topped with smashed avocado, sliced radishes, macadamia butter, sesame crumble, heirloom tomato, and sea salt. The eggs are served on the side. It’s $20.

Everything we tried is featured on Ciclo’s Saturday Brunch menu. On Sundays they have a brunch buffet with all kinds of food for $78. They have ceviche, deviled eggs, baguettes on the cold buffet. On the hot buffet, they have mini chicken-fried biscuit sandwiches, market fish, and bacon. They also have an Eggs Benedict station which I NEED to go back for.

To Book or Not To Book a Tour on Your Vacation
Personally, I love booking tours on vacation. I am not a fan of big giant tour groups, so I like to search for authentic tours with small groups – boat tours, audio guides I can do on my own, winery tours, etc. When we were in Europe, Dan and I booked a few different tours…
