Where You Can Order Takeout/Delivery in Pittsburgh; Brunch Continues Despite COVID-19

Last updated – March 18

With the measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, our way of life for the moment is on pause. We’re not able to toast glasses of champagne in a trendy upscale restaurant with a group of friends. Instead, we’re stocking our kitchens with grains, pastas, and canned foods in isolation praying we have enough toilet paper to get by. (Unfortunately, I am down to one roll of toilet paper and hoping that next shipment comes soon…)

There are so many things to consider but as a food blogger I can’t help but think of everyone in the restaurant industry, especially the smaller restaurants. Several restaurants/cafes have a takeout/delivery option, so I wanted to share as many as I can that are in the Pittsburgh area. I’ll continue to add and update the list throughout the week. GoodFood Pittsburgh also has a great list to guide you on available takeout/delivery options in Pittsburgh.

You can also support local and small businesses by purchasing gift cards. (With gift cards, you can always plan a fun brunch for the future!)

Please add comments with any restaurants I didn’t mention!

Round Corner Cantina

I sincerely hope that this blows over soon so we can all drink mimosas on the stunning patio of Round Corner Cantina. Until then, you can use Postmates for delivery every day from 1:00 – 9:00 pm. On Instagram, they said they’ll be on Grubhub soon! (P.S. They also have bottles of wine and 6-packs to go if you pick up your order at the restaurant.)

The Bloom Cafe

This flowery bunch still offers their entire menu online. The fridge is stocked with soups, eggs, and pastries! For this week, The Bloom Cafe will be open from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. I may need to drive over to Valencia to pick up The Orchid – Prosciutto, house made fig butter, apple, goat cheese, served on Mediterra’s rustic farm bread.

Pigeon Bagel

At a time of uncertainty, bagels from Pigeon Bagel are still something we can rely on. They have a short menu but you can still add lox, pickled beets, and schemer. March 18 – March 22 place your order by calling ahead 412-224-2073. The phones are open for preorders until 3:00 pm and they currently are not taking orders at the door.

Ineffable Cà Phê

This Vietnamese eatery is open for takeout or, if you live within 3 mi, they’ll deliver from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm. The full menu is online, and yes they do have brunch and banh mi!

Lola’s Eatery

Wednesday – Sunday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm you can order brunch through Door Dash or you can do takeout. There’s a limited menu, but they’re serving the essentials – CYO Hangover Cure and A.M Eggrolls! (I wish they could deliver the Ube Bunz.)

Cafe Liminal

This healthy, organic restaurant that we usually get to enjoy at Smallman Galley offers delivery meals for one time only, or you can subscribe and order weekly. On the menu, you can find healthy breakfast bowls and breakfast chimis for the morning, but they offer gluten free bread and dinner. For a 10% discount off all meal prep, use this link or type in “endless_brunch” at checkout.

Ki Ramen

Fresh noodles at your service. This ramen joint is doing a limited menu for takeout and Grubhub. Even though it’s a limited menu, you still have a lot of variety. If you get one of each, you can freeze it right?

The Mediterranean Grill

You can still get a taste of mediterranean food by ordering takeout from The Mediterranean Grill. Their hours will be from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm so give them a call at (412) 521 – 5505

Merchant Oyster Co.

Sadly, Merchant Oyster Co. is not open for brunch, but they are open for takeout or delivery through Grubhub Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 on – 8:00 pm. For takeout, call (412) 932-2553. The lunch/dinner menu has Crab Grilled Cheese, so I could get that any time of the day.

Cilantro & Ajo

Venezuelan street food is still available! Sure, we’re locked inside, but we can order take out and pretend we’re visiting Venezuela, right? Also, to my gluten free friends, the menu is 80% gluten free according to their website. That’s practically unheard of. You can find them on UberEats, Grubhub, and DoorDash, or call ahead for a pick up order (412) 432 – 5708.

Orbis Caffe

Even though you can’t relax in this Mt. Lebanon coffee shop, you can order take out. This week they’ll be open from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm so give them a call at (412)-563-1220. I wouldn’t mind treating myself to their Baked Breakfast Spaghetti!

Dianoia’s Eatery

Not only will they have a hybrid lunch and dinner menu , they’ll have family meals, pasta boxes, and market items. This starts today through, March 17, through Saturday from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm. Place orders through Grubhub or call (412) 918 – 1875 for curbside pick up.

Caffé  Mona

Sadly, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to enjoy the colorful umbrella covered patio, but you can enjoy a crepe or two via carry-out or by placing an order through Grubhub or UberEats.

Or, The Whale PGH

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to order one of their delicious Bloody Maries, but Tuesday – Saturday from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm you can get takeout. The shortened menu features a bit of everything with mussels, smoked smashed potatoes, scallops, burgers, and more.

Mediterra Cafe + Bakehouse

Mediterra in Sewickley is currently offering free shipping on bread orders purchased online and 20% off all take-out orders for the cafe and bakehouse. A breakfast sammie and a loaf of sourdough bread would be wonderful. Check out the menu and order online.

Mola

Just because we’re quarantined doesn’t mean you don’t have an option to order fresh, unique food. Mola has shorted hours and is available for takeout or you can use DoorDash, Postmates, UberEats, or GrubHub to get it dropped off at your door. The menu has tons of sushi options, soups, bao buns, rice bowls, and desserts. How good does the Nutella Banana Bao sound!

Spirits and Tales

This stunning Oakland French brasserie can’t send you champagne, but they do offer takeout. Please remember to call in advance. In less challenging times, they serve brunch Saturdays and Sundays. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner; plenty of options. The Pain Purdu with thick cut challah, squash apricot jam, crème fraiche, Rivendale maple syrup, cinnamon pepita crunch sounds better than my pancakes at home.

Condado Tacos

You can still celebrate Taco Tuesday thanks to delivery and take out. Condado is on DoorDash, you can build your own or get their suggestions. Before the COVID-19 closings, I made a “Breakfast taco” with the Juju shell, scrambled eggs, bacon, cilantro + onions, red cabbage, smoked cheddar, pineapple salsa, and cilantro-lime aioli… I highly recommend that concoction.

Gaucho Parrila Argentina

Meat-lovers, this Argentinian delight will be available to order for pickup Tuesday, March 17 – Saturday, March 21. Their staff is even happy to deliver orders to your car when you pick it up. Just give them a call 412-709-6622 to place your order and pay over the phone. Currently, the menu hasn’t changed, wondering if I should treat myself to the Asado platter…

Bird on the Run

As much as I’ll miss seeing the stunning chandelier at the speakeasy side of Bird on the Run, but you can order take out or use postmates, doordash, Grubhub, or UberEats to get the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and the beignets delivered.

Bartramhouse Bakery

Don’t forget desserts! The McMurrary, Southside, and Wexford locations are open for takeout. Give them a call to place your order. The breakfast menu is served all day and indulge in a Bearclaw.

Salud Juicery

Nourish your body with these healthy juices bowls, shots, and hot drinks. You can order online to pick up your order at any location (Sewickley, Shadyside, Southpointe, Oakland, and Oakmont.) Honestly, this quarantine may be the best time to the three day cleanse you’ve been considering.

Azorean Cafe

Portuguese bites are just an online order away. You can order for pickup or get your meal delivered with Grubhub. Not only do they have Azorean French Toast and cheese platters… you can have a Sparkling Mimosa delivered. (Sorry it’s sans alcohol; juice with lemon flavored island sparkling water.)

Lowkey Taco

With the latest news, I’m sorry I didn’t get to try their Quarantini cocktail, but there is a takeout option for the food menu. This taco restaurant in Robinson set up a drive-through option. This week you can call in to order to go from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm ((412) 249-8675).
