Pittsburgh Brunch Round up: October 5-6, 2019

September 30, 2019 (Last Updated: December 15, 2019)

Can you all believe it is the first weekend of October?! The air should be getting crisp, and I am ready to start wearing cozy sweaters again. To embrace one of my favorite months, I’d like to try something new. Each week I’ll scour Facebook’s events, Google, and all the food sources to pull a weekly list of all the brunch happenings in Pittsburgh, PA every weekend. (Hopefully we have lots to choose from!)

Brunched October 5, 2019 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Y’all the Pittsburgh City Paper is bringing all my personal favorite brunch restaurants together for a party this weekend – Round Corner Cantina, Acorn, First Watch are just a few!) The General Admission tickets ($40.00 + $4.00 fees) include unlimited brunch tastings + bloody mary and mimosa samplings.

Pub Chip Shop Brunch Edition. October 6, 2019 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

This Sunday the food truck is coming out early. Head over to Roundabout Brewery for their brunch menu. I am drooling thinking about their description of a fried chicken with bacon jalapeño maple syrup biscuit, Scotch Eggs Benedict, fish n’ chips, and a “thai chili chicken boxty tot box.” I’ve honestly never even heard of that, but it sounds wild.

Stroll the strip. October 5, 2019 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

I love to write about the Strip District’s brunch scene. Few restaurants can top Luke Wholey’s Bloody Mary, but this weekend, you can buy tickets for the day stroll ($20) to get a taste of more neighborhood hits. DiAnoia’s Eatery, De Fer Coffee & Tea, Pittsburgh Winery, and Kingfly Spirits are just a few hosts at this event, and there are also tickets for the after parties if you want to keep going!

Yoga + Cider. October 6, 2019 11:00 am – 12:30 PM

Doesn’t fall get you in the mood for hard cider? This Sunday, you can pair your yoga routine with cider samples from Threadbare Cider. The cider house is hosting a mini-tour following a class taught by Mark Staley. Following the event, you’ll want to stick around for the kitchen’s Sourdough French Toast. Check out their brunch menu.

Pittsburgh Urban Gardening Project – Octoberfest. October 6, 2019 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

This Sunday the farm stand is hosting a brunch fundraiser for their internship program. For $20, enjoy bites from Brick n’ Mortar Kitchen & Burgh Bites Food Truck while drinking samples of Mindful Brewing’s special edition beer that was brewed with Pittsburgh Urban Gardening Project’s produce.

Hog Butchering Brunch. October 5 & 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM

Sorry to offend any vegans. The Spanish-style restaurant located in Lawrenceville is offering a unique experience this Saturday and Sunday. Chef Justin Severino will demonstrate how a whole pig is butchered for the restaurant’s charcuterie and programs. If you’re still hungry after that, a multi-course family style brunch will be served. Buy tickets here ($85.00 per person + tax and gratuity.)

Pumpkin Ice Cream + Apple Cocktails. October 5, 2019 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Okay, so this clearly isn’t brunch, but how can you say no to this incredible combo? Stop by the Wigle Barrelhouse & Whiskey Garden for some seasonal Graeter’s Ice Cream and apple cocktails. Gosh, fall is the best.
